The Problem
The Northeast Ohio tree canopy began to thin in the 1940s. Cleveland, for instance, has lost nearly half of the street trees. This dramatically reduces the amount of tree cover and results in:
Higher temperatures • Increased energy costs • Reduced public health • Decreased habitat for wildlife • Greater risk of flooding

How did Rooted in Trees come about?
Rooted in Trees' founder and CEO Paul Abbey, began his love affair with trees early in life. Growing up in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, he was surrounded by trees and wildlife as he fished with his father.
